Sexual Differences Male develops blue throughout entire head, body and fins. Body has yellow throughout as well. Some yellow speckles throughtout the dorsal, caudal and anal fin. White rim along dorsal. Females grey/brown.
General Information Located throughout the lake. Found mostly in deeper waters near river outlets where the bottom consists of muddy sand. Diet in the wild consists of microinvertebrates found in the sand.

The aquarium should have some rockwork but still provide open swimming space both along the bottom and mid-tank region. Feed a quality cichlid flake/pellet food, supplement occasionally with frozen brine, krill or mysis.
