Discovered By KONINGS 1990
Common Name "Electric Blue II"
Fish Size min 6" - max 8" Inches
Min Tank Size 50 Gallons
Sexual Differences Male develops a spectacular deep velvet blue coloration throughout. White rim along dorsal fin. Female is silver with three black spots and yellow/white rim along dorsal fin.
General Information Located around Mbenji, Maleri Islands, Nkhomo, Eccles Reef. Found over the sandy parts of the intermediate zone, in addition to the open water. Diet in the wild consists of plankton.

The aquarium should have some rockwork but still provide open swimming space both along the bottom and mid-tank region. Feed a quality cichlid flake/pellet food, supplement occasionally with frozen brine, krill or mysis.

In my opinion, this fish develops the most striking blue of all Malawi cichlids!
